North Korean Troops in Russia

Hey, here’s something…

Here’s the first story I saw on Wednesday morning (very early) and then just kind of waited all day to see what was going on…

U.S. and South Korean officials have said there’s evidence North Korean troops have been dispatched to Russia.

And uh… no one knows why!

And I don’t really know what to add to this, I’m sorry. But it felt like something I should tell you about so… now I’ve told you about it.

McDonald’s Outbreak

McDonald’s has had to hit pause on selling their quarter pounder burgers at 20% of their restaurants because of an E. Coli outbreak that has gotten fifty people across ten states sick.

It’s possible the onions are the culprit, not the patties themselves, but uh… rough headline to be crossing the country immediately following Trump using one of the franchised locations for a campaign stop.

I’m not blaming him!

If it did come from the onions, it would be the first-time onions have been linked to this type of E. Coli.

Hey – have you considered just getting a Diet Coke from McDonald’s instead? (I don’t really care about McDonald’s but their Diet Coke’s are elite.)

DOJ Warns Musk

Remember yesterday when I was like “hey Elon Musk might be breaking the law when he gives people in swing states $1 million at random if they promise to support the Constitution and hey while they’re at it maybe just also Trump”?

Well good news… the Department of Justice listens to this show!

On Wednesday it came out that the DOJ has warned Musk’s PAC that he may be breaking the federal law.

No word yet on whether the warning has done anything. I would guess… probably not?

Hey, if you live in a swing state – I’d say take his money, buy a house, and then donate the rest to Kamala Harris.

But make sure he knows about it.

I find I am very fine with anytime we can bum him out.

Oh! Just wait until the election results are in!!! That dude’s going to be bummed.

Donald Trump is a Fascist

On Wednesday John Kelly, Donald Trump’s longest-serving Chief of Staff, went on the record with New York Times and called Donald Trump a fascist.

“Well, looking at the definition of fascism: It’s a far-right authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy. So certainly, in my experience, those are the kinds of things that he thinks would work better in terms of running America. Certainly the former president is in the far-right area, he’s certainly an authoritarian, admires people who are dictators — he has said that. So he certainly falls into the general definition of fascist, for sure.””

That is his Chief of Staff, someone that knows him. That spent a lot of time with him. That saw him as he was.

And he is confirming that yes: he believes that Donald Trump is a fascist.

A word that sometimes gets thrown around but, in this case, is not.

He is not being hyperbolic. He is not exaggerating.

He is saying – Donald Trump is a fascist.

Also, a long-form article came out in the Atlantic that I am begging you to read, it’s in show notes. In part of the article, two people confirmed they once heard Trump tell John Kelly: “I need the kind of generals that Hitler had.”

He also had to explain to Trump, in 2018, who the good guys were in WWI.

In regards to the 2020 election, he pitched “termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”

Regarding the protestors after the death of George Floyd, he said, “Can’t you just shoot them, just shoot them in the legs or something?”

Kelly also confirmed, in that article, about the many times (publicly and behind closed doors) that Trump regularly looked down on, and said horrific things, about our servicemembers. People actively serving and people who have died in action.

I know we said this a lot when Trump was president, but it bears repeating now: this is not normal.

Donald Trump does not deserve to lead this country or our military.

He did not deserve to be president the first time, he does not deserve a second-term.

Let’s not give it to him.

Twelve days. We have twelve days.

This is a fight for democracy.

It deserves all we’ve got.
