More Mayor Adams Subpoenas

New York City’s Mayor Adams, who has been part of a corruption that was revealed in April and circles around the idea that the mayor, and his staff, may have received free upgrades on Turkish Airlines flights in exchange for political favors, has received a whole new round of grand jury subpoenas.

The mayor continues to say the investigation will prove out his innocence, and the attorney for the mayor say they did their own investigation and it also showed that the mayor did nothing wrong.

Which I find hilarious. Like, of course their own attorney isn’t going to find any wrongdoing! We’re not going to take their word for it!

Silly geese.

Arrests in Death of Matthew Perry

Five people, two doctors, a live-in assistant, a friend, and a drug dealer, have all been arrested for conspiring in the death of Matthew Perry.

Text messages show that the group worked together, knowing full well that what they were doing was wrong, to supply Perry, who was very public with his struggles with sobriety, with ketamine. They overcharged him. They found street dealers. They used an underground seller. And his assistant, his live-in assistant, injected him. Multiple times a day. Including three times on the day he died.

Then, following the news of his death, they told each other to delete their texts.

Because they knew they were responsible.

For reasons that blow my mind – the judge overseeing the case is going to let one of the doctor’s keep the non-controlled substance part of his medical practice to say open as long as he posts a note explaining the charges.

Election 2024

And hey, how about some election news?

On Thursday, the Biden administration announced that they’d made deals with various medical companies to knock down the prices for ten of Medicare’s most expensive drugs.

This includes blood thinners and diabetes medication. A move that will save some people hundreds, and thousands, of dollars.

This comes a few days after Biden announced that they are rolling out a series of policies that will make it easier to get a refund for flights, talk to a human representative on the phone, and cancel subscriptions.  It’s not going to be able to happen right away but still – this is great! Big stuff.

Biden’s doing what he wants and some of it, like this, is awesome.

Someone should tell him about the Supreme Court kind of telling him he can get rid of my student loans if he wants!

Following the announcement of the lowered prescription costs, President Biden and Veep Harris held a best friends of ever rally which was supposed to be a policy event and then he was like screw it – how great is Kamala?

Biden has been fighting to let Medicare negotiate drug costs since his first year in the Senate (1973) so while obviously we wish it had happened sooner, it’s a nice little bookend to his time in politics. And, as Biden was quick to note, not one single Republican voted in support.

Classic.

Well, as his own rally on Thursday, Trump, who did not change after a bullet lightly grazed his ear, said he’s very angry at Kamala Harris because he thinks she would weaponize the justice system against him and so he believes his is quote “entitled” to personal attacks.

First of all, false.

Second of all, you live a life of entitlement, you buffoon.

Third of all, she doesn’t need to weaponize the justice system against you. You did it to yourself! Doofus.

He’s just the worst.

So we shouldn’t even him because he’s a dinkus.

But we also can’t because, even though he pretended to not know about Project 2025 while also wishing them luck in all future endeavors…

A co-author got caught on hidden camera saying Trump has “been at our organization, he’s raised money for our organization, he’s blessed it … he’s very supportive of what we do.”

He also got caught talking about how serious he is about a lot of what’s in Project 2025, specifically deportation, as well as how detailed the work they’ve done is. Take, for example, this gem.. “You may say, ‘OK, all right, DHS, we want to have the largest deportation. What are your actual memos that a secretary sends out to do it? Like, there’s an executive order, regulations, secretarial memos. Those are the types of things that need to be thought through so you’re not, you’re not having to scramble or do that later on.”

Adding, “It’s a big, fat stack of papers that will be distributed during the transition period.”

When talking about Trump’s first term, he said “we had people, appointees, that were not on board with the president’s viewpoint – leaking, destabilizing the policy process. “I don’t think that will be the occurrence again.”

Hey – Trump is a doofus and dummy and not a good person. But he’s also surrounding himself with terrible people.

We should perhaps not elect him again. Because of how he is a bad person who wants to do bad things.

And working from home. I used to work from home. Don’t get me wrong, I like where I work now but… I used to wear daytime sweatpants and get gas once a month. That was also nice.

But more than that, more than my daytime jimmy jams, because you are something I’m allowed to be seen in public with… I’m proud of you.
