Good morning! It’s Friday, March 10th.

National Freelancers Day.

Now this one I can get on board with! I’ll tell ya what’s cool about freelancers… is that if someone’s a freelancer but still helping your company succeed, you should still pay them well. And if they’re your whole business model, you should give them health insurance. Ya hear that, Uber, et al? And everyone else?

Your drivers aren’t freelancers. They’re your whole business. So, you know… give em health insurance. And a thrivable wage.

And now, the news.

Mitch McConnell Hospitalized

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is being treated for a concussion and will spend a few days in the hospital, for observation, after taking a fall a dinner event on Wednesday night.

Here’s hoping for a quick recovery. Because you’d have to be a monster to hear someone in their 80s was taken to the hospital and immediately go online and start spewing conspiracy theories. Ya know? Like, you’d have to be a real monster to do that.

Biden’s Got a Budget

Have two joke titles for this segment, let me know which you like more:

First up “I’m gonna call this story: ooooh why don’t you brag about it?”

Second option: “okay well me too and, just like mine… it’s probably not gonna pass”

The real title is… Biden’s got himself a budget!

Biden’s 2024 budget proposal includes tax hikes on the rich and big corporations, reigning in spending on prescription drugs, investments in health care, education, and other social programs, and free community college.

So… yeah, no, it’s not gonna pass. The Republican’s have already called it a non-started. Which is just a very cool thing to do, when you don’t have a budget of your own to counter with.

Russia Fires Hypersonic Missiles

Though, or I guess because, Ukraine has been able to defend themselves from the rockets Russia has fired into the country, Russia has upped their attack and, on Thursday morning, began firing hypersonic missiles.

Though they have used the missile before, they have never used this many. How many? Well, on Thursday morning they fired 81.

These missiles are particularly deadly because not only are they faster, they make unpredictable changes the closer they get to the target.

They are also believed to be nuclear capable.

So… that’s the update there.

Shooting in Germany

At least six people are dead after a shooting in a Jehovah’s Witness hall in Germany on Thursday evening.

It’s unclear whether there were one or more assailants. It’s also unknown whether the shooter is among the dead.

This clearly breaking news, and hopefully we’ll know more on Monday. And, more hopefully, that number will not grow.

The Cartel is… Sorry?

Here’s something… a letter, believed to be authentic, has been passed from the Mexican drug cartel that kidnapped four Americans and killed two of them over the weekend, says they’re… sorry. The cartel says this goes against the rules which include… “respecting the life and well-being of the innocent.”

So. That’s a letter from the drug cartel.

I don’t know what to say about that. Surprising, that’s for sure.

Trump Crime Update Time

Folks… it’s now time to get to the story that had me running to my computer. Running to do the news. Because it’s Friday and let’s end on a high note. Let’s end with…

Trump Crime Update Time

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg (not of the Chipmunks, as I have been surprised to learn) has given Donald Trump until next week to come on in and give testimony about the time that he used hush money to try and silence porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.

So what does this mean? Well, it means that it’s very likely dude is about to get his first indictment!

Remember that he’s got cases left and right. In New York, in Georgia, with Coach Beard, with fashion (the ties are too long! It’s not the worst thing about it. Not even close. But I can’t not mention it).

But, with all those cases, he personally has yet to be charged. Remember that Trump Co got charged for Money Crimes and they were like “yeah I mean we KNOW Trump gave them thumbs up emoji for it buuuuuut”

This will likely be the first charge.

🎶But it won’t be the last!!🎶

I mean, it hasn’t happened yet, so it’s just like… legal gossip. But who doesn’t love a little legal gossip on a Friday. It’s fun. How fun!

Get out there and have a great weekend knowing that, in a golf club in Florida, surrounded by mid food and even more mid people, the guy doesn’t know how to properly apply self-tanner, and isn’t loved enough for anyone to help him out, is worried about multiple indictments coming down the aisle.

I’m proud of all of us, who don’t have to have those same worries. Also freelancers.

Also it’s International Day of Women Judges. And so we stay proud of the GOOD women judges.

We love justice. Justice and karma baybee. We love to see it.
